Born
in Hardisty, Alberta, Marg later married John Skoberg and moved
to Moose Jaw, Sask.She came to Cranbrook in 2000.
In
1965 Marg took her first art lessons and began seeing the beauty
of the sweeping prairie landscape and never ending skies through
new eyes.
From
1968 - 1973 the Skoberg family lived in Ottawa where Marg was
able to study under leading artists Larry Halpin, Henri Maisson
and Fred Maheux.
After
returning to Moosejaw in 1973, Marg attended Summer School of
the Arts at Emma Lake and Ft. Qu'Appelle taught by such artists
as Dr. Kiesler, Graham Scholes, Wilf Perreau, Bob Christie, Lorna
Cutting and others.
Marg
has exhibited in Ottawa, Regina, Moosejaw, Swift Current, Westbank,
Peachland, Kelowna and Penticton. She has a number of her
paintings in government offices and many more are in private Canadian
collections.
In
1986 Marg and her husband John retired to Peachland where the
beauty of the Okanagan presented new challenges. She now
paints and exhibits with the Summerland Art Club and the Peachland
Art Club. Marg continues to take workshops and now lives
in Cranbrook, B.C.
